WEEK 14  It took from Sunday to Thursday for my quads to recover. Friday, my run consisted of running down to Donneybrook House, my local medical centre, to get an " appointment on the day." The system of getting to see a doctor is in my opinion terrible. I was there before 8:00 am and there [...]

Posted on 18th April, 2013 by Dr Ron

" I could hardly believe what I was seeing when TV showed what had happened on Boylston Street close to the finish of the Boston Marathon around 4 hours and 10 minutes into the race. What a sick, obscene, senseless atrocity aimed to inflict maximum damage on defenceless spectators packed deep on the sidewalks.
    I have great affinity [...]

WEEK 10  Commencing Saturday March 2nd. I ran the WORSLEY WOODS PARKRUN. Arriving early on a very cold morning I warmed up alone. Two miles, feeling wooden legged and my hands were freezing despite gloves. But the time was reasonable - 22:16, therefore 11:08 per mile. Good for me and a pace faster than my normal training speed [...]
